I spent about a month over the summer coding Infochanl.
What is it?
It’s a simulator that lets you create your own version of those old information and community bulletin board channels of the past.
I decided I wanted it to look right, and cover all the bases of how people misused their old cable systems and TVs, squashing them, stretching them because they didn’t like “those black bars” because their TV was a different aspect ratio than the signal. I also gamut clamped them to give them those muted colors to match old NTSC standard definition analog signals and to match the color gamuts of the initial HDTV systems.
The way the system currently works, you create screens, then a playlist of screens with timers to switch between them.
It even has the ability to make a soundtrack either with a playlist, or random play.
