Advent of Code 2025 is here!
Day 1 of 12 is now available.
I know many people are disappointed that it’s only 12 puzzles this year instead of a puzzle every day until Xmas, but I can understand the effort that goes into this and the desire for some extra free time this year. Especially after this many years!
Since my time is short this year, I decided to crank through the first one in python, with a unified solution for both parts. If I get the free time, I’ll go back and tighten up the code and possibly try it in other languages as well.
The first star of the puzzle was fairly simple, and as usual, introduced you to the key mechanic for the second half.
The second star, as expected, was much trickier and rolled out almost every edge case that I could see for this logic.
As is, we’ve already several holiday events that I’m excited for, so that might not happen.
Yogscast Jingle Jam is today on Twitch and sometimes YouTube, starting at noon ET. Advent of Cyber also starts today on tryhackme! I’ll try to post about both later today, but for now, I need to go scan the job and freelance boards!
